In this interview, we speak with Ana Spirkoska, the creator behind Atelier AsimiAna, about her beginnings, inspiration, challenges, and love for this delicate craft.
How did your story with filigree jewelry begin?
My story with jewelry in general began when I was in sixth grade. For several years, I experimented with different materials, mostly as a hobby, until my mother introduced me to the filigree technique when I was around 14 years old. That was when I developed a desire to learn how jewelry is made using this exact technique, and when I was 16, I completed training in creating silver filigree jewelry. Since then, I’ve been making jewelry with great love, continuously growing and expanding my knowledge.
How long have you been working as a jewelry creator, and where did your passion for this come from?
I’ve been working as a filigree jewelry creator since October 2025, so I’m still quite a new name in this field. As I mentioned earlier, my mother was the one who first introduced me to this technique, and as soon as I learned what filigree actually was, I started noticing it more and more online and in shop windows, becoming fascinated by its delicacy and uniqueness. Personally, I’ve always loved activities that require attention and patience, so I immediately felt connected to this technique.

What does the filigree technique mean to you personally?
The filigree technique is a story in itself. Every piece of jewelry is actually a reflection of someone’s soul – of the things that make us happy, sad, and of what leaves an impression on us in our familiar everyday life. In short, filigree is a space for expression for me. A space where, with every millimeter of silver, I can express myself exactly the way I want. Without prejudice, expectations, or judgment.
How would you describe your jewelry collection in just a few words?
The jewelry collection I’ve created so far, I would describe as unique and free. Unique, because at the beginning, my biggest challenge was originality – the question of how I could create something new in a world where it feels like everything already exists. At the same time, I would describe the collection as free because my mind had the freedom to wander, explore, and create whatever came to it, without limiting itself by setting a specific theme. Still, in the future, I would love to create a special collection focused on one theme – why not?
What inspires you the most when designing new pieces?
The roots of my inspiration run deep into the everyday and the forgotten – the things that are right in front of us every day, yet we often fail to notice them. When I feel bored, I like to look around me, hoping that something new will catch my eye. I don’t really design jewelry – it was designed long before I existed. I’m simply the one who transforms shapes from nature into pieces of jewelry.
What does the process of creating a jewelry piece look like?
The creation process is not short, but for me, it is especially enjoyable. I can say that it requires a great deal of concentration and attention, because at every stage something can go wrong, especially considering how precise the work is. It’s important to recognize the moment when you lose focus, stop, and return with fresh concentration. The process includes measuring, cutting, gluing, cleaning, shaping, polishing, and many other steps. It only proves how much time and dedication go into a single piece of jewelry.

What are the biggest challenges you face as a creator?
As a jewelry creator and at the same time a high school student, my biggest challenge is the lack of time, especially when it comes to creating videos and photos to promote my work. Although I’ve collected hundreds of interests and skills throughout life, I’ve never really learned how to attract potential customers – but I hope this craft will teach me that as well.
What was your first impression of being part of Vividoshop?
Honestly, when I first heard about Vividoshop, I was pleasantly surprised by the idea of a platform that brings together all handmade creators, and I immediately knew I wanted to be part of it. That’s why I’m happy to be on this platform, and I truly hope it gets the attention it deserves.
What does it mean to you when someone wears a piece of your jewelry?
When someone wears a piece of my jewelry, I feel incredibly happy and fulfilled. It’s a special feeling that I think people who are not involved in this kind of work can’t fully understand. The fact that someone chose me and decided to support a small business with big dreams truly warms my soul.
What are your plans and goals for the future of Atelier AsimiAna?
In the future, I would like to continue learning and growing, whether in the field of filigree or another technique. This craft attracts me, and I would love for it to always remain part of my everyday life. Of course, my first priority is to pursue higher education. As I mentioned before, I have many interests, and I would like to dedicate myself professionally to one of them, while jewelry making would remain my parallel creative path.
